The elements in Willi Opitz’s recipe for success appear masterly combined in El Furtivo wines. Passion lies in the way the vineyard is tended to all year round, with the utmost care and dedication. What is more, there is a nearly obsessive focus on the growth and development of healthy grapes, because they make up the message of our unique wines. Our 25-year old production vines offer just the perfect maturity. True to the millenary tradition, all grapes are exclusively harvested by hand and carefully sorted before pressing. The vineyard thus produces purely varietal red wines (Tempranillo, Shyraz und Cabernet Sauvignon), one Rosé (Beso Furtivo), one unique white wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon (Caballo Blanco) and a top cuvee (Puerta Milagros – from Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shyraz varieties). And if we may say so, our two dessert wines (both with Tempranillo and Petit Verdot varieties) are just extraordinary.
Innovation has been on the rise since 2015, as the internationally renowned and award-winning winemaker Willi Opitz from Austria took over the vineyard, production and marketing processes, while making intensive use of modern vinification methods.
